Kiroro and Mirai e Music Video
Kiroro (キロロ ?) is a Japanese musical group from Okinawa that debuted in 1996
Kiroro first debuted in 1996 as an independent band, and later made their major debut in 1998 with the song "Nagai Aida (長い間 ?)". They performed on Kōhaku Uta Gassen in 1998, 1999 and 2001.
In January 2005, vocalist Chiharu Tamashiro announced that she was engaged. On April 17 (which coincided with her birthday), she and her fiancé entered the family registry. In May, pianist Ayano Kinjo announced her pregnancy and marriage. In July, Tamashiro announced her pregnancy. In September 2005, they held their "four person concert" in Okinawa with the finale, Wasurenaide ("Don't Forget") before their maternal leave. Kinjo gave birth to a baby girl in November 2005. Tamashiro gave birth to a baby boy in February 2006. In March 2007, Tamashiro announced her second pregnancy.

When vocalist Chiharu Tamashiro was in her primary school days, she visited Ikedamachi, Hokkaido, for a regional exchange program. The Ainu language made a deep impression on her. With the Ainu words 'Kiroru' and 'Kiroro-an', Tamashiro and Kinjo decided on the name "Kiroro" for the group; "Kiroru" meaning a wide walking path and "Kiroro-an" meaning "resilient" and "healthy."
The name "Kiroro," however, was already registered in 1981 to the Yamaha Organization in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka, for the Kiroro Resort in Akaigawa Village, Hokkaido. Victor Entertainment made agreements with the Yamaha organization for use of the name.

Trivia:
* Kiroro's Mirai e and Best Friend are selected to be part of the Japanese music textbooks' syllabus.
* Tamashiro Chiharu is on close terms with Rimi Natsukawa, another famous vocalist from Okinawa. Not only do they enjoy drinking with each other, they like to sing each other's songs when they go for karaoke sessions together. Tamashiro Chiharu has written songs for Rimi Natsukawa, and Rimi Natsukawa has performed the song 月の夜 (moon night), which was composed and performed by Kiroro.
* Kiroro's trilogy of romance refers to Suki na Hito, Aitai and Mou Sukoshi.
* Up to June 20 2007, the only song ever recorded in Kiroro's singles and/or albums that is not composed by kiroro themselves is Tinsagu nu Hana, a folk song from Okinawa.
* Probably due to the spread of incorrect information through the internet, some people wrongly credited Kiroro for the song さよなら大好きな人 (Goodbye, my love). The actual singer of that song is Hana*Hana, a former Japanese Duo band similar to Kiroro in 'format' (2 girls who compose their own music, play the piano and sing. )A distinctive difference from Kiroro is that both members of Hana*Hana sing and play the piano on almost equal distribution.
* Again, Kiroro is wrongly credited for Final Fantasy OST. There are probably two reasons for this. First, the title of the song "すてきだね" coincides with a song in KIRORO's debut album (songlist #2), which was actually a song written in praise of her highschool's softball team in her schooling days. Secondly, it probably had something to do with the FF miraie video clips created that score high hits on youtube.
* Kiroro composed the opening theme song Bokura no Messēji for the anime series 無人惑星SURVIVE.
* Kiroro also composed another song, Ikitekoso, as the opening theme song of the anime adaptation of Mushiking.
